OC powering up online reporting tool for sexual violence
Update: REES is now online. Read more in the media release
Okanagan College has partnered with REES (Respect, Educate, Empower Survivors), a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week centralized online reporting and information platform that provides increased options for students and employees to report campus sexual harassment, misconduct and assault.
REES includes multiple reporting options and critical information about resources and supports available both on campus and in community.
The REES tool will be published on Okanagan College’s Sexual Violence Awareness page on Thursday, Feb. 3 in the Get Support and Give Support sections. This page also contain links to the College’s Sexual Violence and Misconduct Policy, how to disclose a sexual violence and supports for survivors.
This initial communication is meant to inform employees and student leaders that the tool will go live on Feb. 3 and where to find it. After launch, an information campaign for students and employees will follow to ensure all members of the OC community are aware the tool is available and how to access it. If you have questions about the REES platform, please contact Kaylen Lesko, Student Support Coordinator, Student Services.
The following information and training resources are available, and all members of OC are encouraged to view them to understand how REES works.
