Survivor Support at Okanagan College
At OC, we are committed to fostering safer campuses by empowering survivors of sexual and gender-based violence through compassionate support, ongoing education, and meaningful action. Whether you or someone you know has been impacted by sexual violence, harassment, or harm we offer confidential support tailored to your needs. We respect and honour each person's unique identity and experiences. You have options, and we are here to support you at every step of the way.
Your Options for Reporting:
Two types of disclosure forms are available to OC students:
- Anonymous Disclosure Form: Use this form if you want to share information about an incident without revealing your identity. You can provide as much or as little detail as you feel comfortable with, helping us to monitor and understand incidents on campus. While we will not be able to offer direct support or follow up with you, your input is crucial in enhancing our campus safety efforts.
- Survivor Support Form: Choose this form if you are seeking support or want to explore your options for reporting the incident. By sharing your contact information, a member of our Coordinated Support Services team will reach out to you within two business days to create a personalized support plan that best meets your needs. The information you share will be kept confidential and handled with the utmost care.
Need Help Deciding?
If you are unsure which form is best for you, or if you would like to speak directly with the Coordinated Support Services team about your experience, please contact us at occares@okanagan.bc.ca or visit us in S111 on the Kelowna Campus.
Additional Options for Disclosure or Support:
We empower all students to disclose their experience in the manner that feels safest to them, whether to family, friends, on-campus supports such as OC Counselling Services, or resources in the community.
Students can connect with OC Counselling Services at counselling@okanagan.bc.ca
For those seeking support outside of OC, a comprehensive list of community resources, along with more information about reporting and support options, is available on our Sexual Violence Awareness webpage.
