This microcredential is designed for IT professionals ready to move into leadership roles. In just 150 hours, you'll build the communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills needed to lead teams, manage change, and make informed decisions in technology-focused workplaces.
Throughout the program, you'll strengthen your critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and professional communication skills. You'll also explore innovation, collaboration, and ethical decision-making while learning how to connect technical expertise with business goals.
By the end of the program, you'll be prepared to take on greater responsibility, lead with confidence, and create value for your organization through both technical knowledge and strong leadership skills.
This 150-hour microcredential equips Information Technology (IT) professionals with the leadership, communication, and strategic skills required to advance in today’s dynamic technology environments. Learners develop critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and professional communication competencies while exploring innovation, collaboration, and ethical decision-making within IT contexts. Through applied learning, participants refine the skills needed to lead technical and project teams, align IT initiatives with business objectives, and contribute effectively to organizational success. Graduates will be prepared to assume greater leadership responsibilities that require both technical expertise and strong business acumen.

This microcredential is designed for individuals with prior exposure to information technology environments. It is recommended that learners have at least two years of experience working in an IT or related technical role or have recently graduated from a post-secondary program in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
All of the courses in this microcredential must be completed at Okanagan College.
