Coyotes Baseball

The 2026 season has quickly turned into a statement campaign for the Okanagan College Coyotes (17-3), who have established themselves as one of the most complete teams in the conference. Through the opening stretch, the Coyotes are not just winning — they’re setting the pace across every major category, leading the conference in pitching, hitting and defense.

It’s a rare trifecta in baseball, and it speaks to a program firing on all cylinders.

On the mound, the Coyotes have been nothing short of extremely tough. Starters have consistently worked deep into games, controlling tempo, while the bullpen has proven equally reliable in high-leverage situations. The result is a conference-leading ERA and a staff that gives the Coyotes a chance to win every time they take the field.

Offensively, the Coyotes have matched that dominance with a relentless approach at the plate. This is not a lineup built around one or two stars — it’s a deep, disciplined group that grinds out at-bats, applies pressure and capitalizes on mistakes. Leading the conference in team batting average and run production, the Coyotes have shown the ability to score in multiple ways: timely extra-base hits, situational execution and aggressive baserunning. Opposing pitchers have found little relief navigating a lineup that simply doesn’t have an easy out.

Defensively, Okanagan College has separated itself even further. Clean, fundamentally sound baseball has become a hallmark of this group. With the conference’s top fielding percentage, the Coyotes consistently turn balls in play into outs, minimizing errors and eliminating extra opportunities for opponents. From steady infield play to confident outfield coverage, the defense has been a quiet but critical pillar of the team’s success.

What makes this start even more impressive is how complete it is. Many teams excel in one or two areas — but leading the conference in all three phases underscores the Coyotes’ identity: disciplined, prepared and relentless.

As the season progresses, expectations will only grow. Maintaining this level of performance is no easy task, especially as opponents begin to circle matchups against the Coyotes. But if the early returns are any indication, Okanagan College isn’t just chasing a playoff spot — they’re positioning themselves as the team to beat.

The Coyotes host the third place Edmonton Collegiate Hawks in a four-game set starting Friday April 24th at 6 p.m. at Elks Stadium. It is “Country” night and the Coyotes are giving away two tickets to Chris Stapleton at the Gorge in July. Gates open 60 minutes before first pitch.

Weekend Schedule at Elks Stadium vs Edmonton Collegiate Hawks:

  • Friday, April 24 - 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 25 - 1 p.m. & 4 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 26 - 11 a.m.
