Salmon Arm staff updates
The Salmon Arm campus is pleased to welcome Angela Blondin to the Campus Assistant position, formerly held by Joanne Stacey who has moved to Program Assistant. Angela comes from an administrative background working in non-profit settings as well as education at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. She loves working in education because of the culture of continuous learning and thriving.
When it comes to her job so far, she is enjoying problem solving particularly the opportunity to work with staff, faculty, and students alike providing lots of variety. Outside of work Angela is happiest when she is travelling with her wife or getting “inked” as she loves tattoos.
When asked about the best advice, she ever received she credited a quote by Anatole France that her grandmother had included in a scrapbook made for Angela in Grade 12: “To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream, not only plan, but also believe.”
“It has stuck with me over the years. I always set intentions, make wishes and lots of them have come true. Including this job. I hope I can pass that wisdom on to students that may be apprehensive about school those that may be changing career paths,” Angela said.
Angela has handled being thrust into a new position amid challenging times in our institution with grace and dedication. She has also proven herself as one of our more competitive Scrabble players with a high score of 44 so far. Please join us in welcoming Angela to her new role.
