Kelowna campus dishing up new food services this fall
Three words of advice for students at the Kelowna campus this year: bring your appetite.
Food services at the Kelowna campus has shaken things up this fall with a new lineup of vendors excited to feed you.
We appreciate your amazing support during the first few weeks of the year. You blew us away and so we have worked hard to increase the options available for you and stock our shelves to keep up on a daily basis. We appreciate your patience while we adjusted to the overwhelming level of demand.
Kekuli Cafe is now offering their famous Bannock-wich melts (bannock sandwiches), sweet and savory traditional bannock fry-bread, smoothies, a truly Canadian twist on coffee and other yummy treats to the Atrium of the Centre for Learning.
The Local Chemist is taking their passion for home-roasted coffee beans to the Student Services Building, with their signature coffee bar offerings alongside local baked goods. Partnering with the Kelowna-based bakery, Big Fat Lion Bakeshop, known for its vegan, gluten-free and allergen-free treats, you won’t want to miss giving them a try. You will also find delicious treats from Cake for Breakfast, including tarts made with fresh Okanagan fruit.
Marmalade Cat Cafe has returned to the Trades building with a variety of options and some new specials, making mouth-watering options available across campus. Their ham and cheese croissants are a must try, especially still warm from the oven!
In the Cafeteria Building, you will find a brand new FeedBC venture called The Market at Okanagan College full of grab-and-go lunch options and locally sourced products like CruzeCo sandwiches, salads and bowls, the Vegetarian Butcher's plant-based foods, cold-pressed juice from Stoke Juice and a selection of Chaibaba tea. We are always looking to add new local vendors and products at the Market, so check us out regularly to see what’s new. All this and you can still find daily fresh products from OC's Culinary and Pastry Arts students.
If food trucks are more your thing, then say hello to the daily rotation of food trucks that will be scheduled to be on campus Monday-Thursday, just outside of the Centre for Learning. Okanagan favourites like TNT Dynamite, Reggae Fusion, Surfside California and Chick Chick Boom will be on hand each day, with a schedule of who's on campus posted at www.okanagan.bc.ca/wheretoeat.
Can’t find your favourite foods? Have a question or concern about any of our food vendors? Have a suggestion? We want to hear your feedback as we strive to meet all your expectations. Please let us know your thoughts at foodservices@okanagan.bc.ca
