Installing Respondus Lockdown Browser
Note: For installing LockDown Browser on an iPad, skip to the iPad section in Step 3.
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Navigate to your exam, test, or quiz page in Moodle that requires Respondus LockDown Browser. Here, you should see a link to download the Respondus LockDown Browser.

Step 2: After clicking this link, select the DOWNLOAD button on the webpage that you have been redirected to.

Step 3: Here are the specific installation instructions for each device provided by Respondus:
- Windows Installation Video
- Mac Installation Video
- Chromebook Installation Video
- iPad Installation (Requires iPadOS 12 or higher)
- Download and install the LockDown Browser app from the Apple App Store to the iPad. For more instructions on how to setup the Respondus LockDown Browser on an iPad, click here.
Troubleshooting
Now that LockDown Browser is installed here are some common troubleshooting steps if you run into any issues:
- First, reboot your device. Even if you are currently in a test and it freezes, it is best to restart your device. Your progress should be saved for when you go to launch the test again from Moodle.
- If rebooting your computer doesn't solve your Lockdown Browser issue, try uninstalling LockDown Browser and re-install it, following the steps above.
