Installing Respondus Lockdown Browser

Note: For installing LockDown Browser on an iPad, skip to the iPad section in Step 3.

Step-by-step instructions

Step 1: Navigate to your exam, test, or quiz page in Moodle that requires Respondus LockDown Browser. Here, you should see a link to download the Respondus LockDown Browser.

Step 2: After clicking this link, select the DOWNLOAD button on the webpage that you have been redirected to.

Step 3: Here are the specific installation instructions for each device provided by Respondus:

Troubleshooting

Now that LockDown Browser is installed here are some common troubleshooting steps if you run into any issues:
  • First, reboot your device. Even if you are currently in a test and it freezes, it is best to restart your device. Your progress should be saved for when you go to launch the test again from Moodle.
  • If rebooting your computer doesn't solve your Lockdown Browser issue, try uninstalling LockDown Browser and re-install it, following the steps above.
