In light of recent events, Okanagan College would like to express our condolences and deepest sympathies to the family of Harmandeep Kaur and all who knew her and are grieving this tragic loss of life.

Our sympathy is also extended to the UBC Okanagan campus community and the Paladin Security Team during this difficult time. We deeply appreciate the care and dedication Paladin team members invest in supporting Okanagan College campuses, looking out for the safety and wellbeing of our students, employees and visitors.

We recognize that members of the OC community will have questions and may be emotionally affected by this loss, given both the close proximity and relationship between OC and UBC Okanagan, and reports that Harmandeep Kaur had been studying at the College. Although Ms. Kaur was not a student of Okanagan College her loss will be deeply felt by many members of our OC community and surrounding community. I encourage anyone in need of support to access available resources:

• OC students in need of support are encouraged to reach out to Counselling Services.
• OC employees can access support through our Employee and Family Assistance program.
