Okanagan College (OC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Taryn McGregor as OC’s new College Human Resources Officer.

McGregor brings more than 15 years of progressive leadership experience in human resources, most recently serving as Executive Director, Employment & Talent Management Services with Interior Health. In this role, she led organization-wide strategies focused on recruitment, retention, diversity, equity and inclusion, and workforce planning across a complex, multi-site organization.

McGregor will replace Gill Henderson, Associate VP of People Services, who is retiring after joining OC in 2021.

“I want to congratulate Gill on a great career and wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement. Gill’s leadership will be missed,” said Dr. Neil Fassina, President of Okanagan College. “Taryn’s depth of experience and passion for people and organizational excellence make her an outstanding addition to our leadership team and a great person to take up the work Gill was leading. Taryn’s commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive workplaces will help strengthen our college community as we continue to grow and evolve.”

A collaborative and values-driven leader, McGregor has extensive experience guiding teams, building strong workplace cultures, and aligning people strategies with organizational priorities. Her background includes senior leadership roles in compensation, recruitment, labour relations, and strategic initiatives, as well as experience working with government, unions, and industry partners.

McGregor holds an Executive MBA in Human Resource Leadership from the University of Fredericton and is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR).

“I’m honoured to join Okanagan College,” said McGregor. “I look forward to working with employees across the institution to build on a strong foundation and support a positive, engaging workplace for all.”

McGregor will begin her role on July 3.
