The three student housing projects taking place at Okanagan College campuses are continuing to move forward as construction is well underway at the Kelowna campus and is scheduled to begin in Vernon and Salmon Arm this spring.

In March 2021, the Province announced a total of 376 new student housing beds at Okanagan College, with 216 in Kelowna, 100 in Vernon and 60 in Salmon Arm.

Construction began in Kelowna last summer and much progress is taking place, as crews are now putting up the walls of the structure and the building is taking shape on K.L.O. Road.

At the Vernon and Salmon Arm campuses, early work is under way and the tenders process for each project is in progressing.

The Vernon student housing project includes a childcare centre, which will be the focus of a fundraising campaign, called the Sunflower Campaign, led by the Okanagan College Foundation in the coming months.

Each of the new student housing buildings is anticipated to be open and ready for students in the fall of 2024.
