OCSU-Kelowna wants students' stomachs to be full so they can do their best during exam season.

The Exam Season Survival Food Drive will make sure students are fed while they are taking their tests. They are asking for donations at the Pantry until April 11.

OCSU is asking the OC community to donate their favourite ‘survival meals’ from when they were in post-secondary, but any general non-perishable items will do.

“Fed students are less stressed students so we are looking to make sure we have that need filled for any who require support,” said Gabby Urban, OCSU Campaigns and Services Coordinator.

You may have heard of their new “Fruits and Roots” shelf that helps students by giving out produce that is long-lasting and doesn’t require refrigeration. They also are accepting monetary donations.

Survival meals could include post-secondary food staples like instant ramen, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, cereal or healthier alternatives such as teas, vegetable chips and trail mix.

“Folks are welcome to bring items to the Pantry, or you can collect them in your offices and let me know when they’re ready to be picked up,” Gabby continued.

The Pantry is located on the Kelowna campus located within the OCSU office in room A148. It is a food bank for OC student which is for OC students. You can find the Pantry guidelines and hours of operation here.

If you need a collection box, you can contact OCSU at info@ocsu.ca.
