Recipient of OC’s Instructional Excellence Award, 2023. In my classrooms, I embrace a relationship-based pedagogy of mutual respect and care for where my students are on their journeys through academia and life.
In addition to completing my Ph.D. with a focus in Applied Genomics and Bioinformatics, I have over 10 years’ experience as a Data Scientist and Consultant handling “Big Data” analysis projects and collaborating with partners across diverse disciplines in health sciences, agriculture, and business within academia, government, and private industry. With broad experience in applied machine learning and advanced statistical analysis strategies to deliver client results, as well as familiarity in a variety of programming languages and programs such as R, Python, SAS, SPSS, Excel, etc., I enjoy supporting students to be successful and making challenging topics interesting and accessible to new and experienced learners alike.
