Adam Relvas 

Chef and Owner, Relvas Catering/The Sandwich Company by Relvas Catering 
OC Program of Study: Culinary Arts (Red Seal), 2003–2005 

Voted Top Chef in the North Okanagan by Okanagan Life Magazine in 2013, 2014 and 2015, and Chef of the Year in 2018 and 2022 by the Okanagan Chefs Association (OCA), Adam grew up in the South Okanagan and gained a passion for food through many food focused family events. Upon finishing school, Adam completed his apprenticeship at Ricardo's Mediterranean Kitchen in Lake Country and has since been able to work at some of the top hotels, wineries and restaurants in the valley before starting his own businesses, The Sandwich Company and Relvas Catering, the latter named a Top 3 catering company in the Central Okanagan in 2017 by Okanagan Life Magazine. Adam currently sits on the OCA board as the young chef director and is heavily involved in giving back to his community. In addition to helping raise funds for Ronald McDonald House and Kelowna General Hospital Foundation, he assisted the local food bank with its Bake the World a better place campaign, and for 12 years has helped a local church provide free meals on Christmas Day to those in need.

Describe your career experience and history 

Upon finishing school, I completed my apprenticeship at Ricardo's Mediterranean Kitchen in Lake Country and have since been able to work at some of the top hotels, wineries and restaurants in the valley before starting my own business in 2015. 

Describe your volunteerism and/or impact in your community 

My business is a regular donor to the KGH Foundation through various events and meals for residents, we are also supporters of the Dream Rally raising money for RMHBC and regular donors to the food bank through various events. 

Achievement, honours or special recognitions you’ve received 

I was voted as Top 3 Chef in the North Okanagan three times while working in Vernon by Okanagan Life Magazine. My business has been named Top 3 caterer and I was voted Chef of the Year by the Okanagan Chefs Association in 2018 and 2022. 

Describe your personal achievements  (family life, pastimes, etc.) 

I am the proud father of two amazing children, Brooklyn and Anthony, and the lucky husband to my wife Lindsay. We enjoy our time together outdoors enjoying the Okanagan lifestyle. I am an avid sports fan and love to give back to my community.
