A Health Science graduate, my research interest is in studying sustainable behaviour change with regard to physical activity behaviours. Prior to joining the College, I worked extensively in the fitness industry certifying, mentoring and managing fitness professionals. The combination of my education and experience helps me prepare the students to excel in their chosen career path. The courses I teach cover exercise testing and program design, sport and exercise psychology, health behaviour change, and nutrition. I prioritize daily physical activity to feel my best and I am happiest on the trails either cycling, hiking, or running.

I practiced clinically as a Chiropractor in Northern Saskatchewan for 6 years before completing a Masters degree that involved studying injury prevalence in open water swimmers. This research complemented both my clinical practice as well as my personal interest in open water swimming, which eventually led me to the Okanagan to teach and year-round open water swimming. I am currently also a member of SportMedBC, a board member of the local swim club, and I maintain a small clinical practice in the Okanagan.

College professor specializing in anatomy, physiology, sports medicine, and pedagogy. My research interest focus on the effects of concussion on student learning, and I am currently exploring how the Return-to-Learn model can be improved to help students successfully continue their studies following a brain injury. The courses I teach cover a range of topics, including exercise physiology, functional anatomy for kinesiology, motor learning and control, and more. The classroom environment allows me to work with students as they apply the principles and concepts taught in the classroom to practical scenarios. Outside of the classroom, I am an endurance sport enthusiast and am always looking for new music to add to my running playlist.
