The Post-Diploma Certificate in Data Science is designed for graduates with a diploma or degree, particularly those with a background in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or related fields. This program provides an additional 24 credits of advanced coursework in Statistics and Data Science. Program description

Graduates with a diploma or degree may receive a post-diploma certificate in Data Science by completing an additional 30 credits of STAT and DSCI courses from a given list. This certificate will be of interest to students who have completed a BBA, BCIS or another related degree or diploma and want to add some experience in Data Science.

Students will receive thorough training in Statistics and Data Science. It is recommended that students enter the program with a sound foundational background in Statistics and Calculus, although this is not a requirement. Students build on and apply these foundational skills to a diverse set of areas. Courses in this program are taught with a variety of applications and the Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science concepts learned are universally applicable to a wide range of disciplines.

A minimum of 50% of the program must be completed through OC. Coursework from the credential used for admission will not be eligible for transfer credit.

DSCI 420 - Mathematics for Machine Learning

STAT 310 - Regression Analysis

MATH 314 - Calculus and Linear Algebra with Business Applications

Complete at least 1 of the following:

STAT 311 - Modern Statistical Methods

STAT 443 - Time Series Analysis and Forecasting

Students entering the certificate with either MATH 314 or STAT 230 (or both) can take any DSCI/MATH/STAT course at the 2XX level or higher to complete the required 30 credits.
