Spring Elections - Education Council (Science & Technology)

Troy Berg (Faculty Representative)

Troy Berg, Chair of the Infrastructure and Computing Technology program, is seeking election as the Science and Technology Faculty representative. With over a decade of experience at Okanagan College and a background in industry, Troy is committed to providing a clear, evidence-informed voice to ensure faculty perspectives are meaningfully represented during this period of institutional change.

Troy Berg is a faculty member and chair in the Infrastructure and Computing Technology (ICT) diploma program. With a background spanning both industry and academia, he brings practical, real-world experience into the classroom, teaching courses in networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, and IT project management.

Since joining OC in 2014, Troy has played an active role in curriculum development, program renewal, and aligning academic programs with evolving industry and workforce needs. He also regularly serves as an external assessor for programs in outside institutions, contributing to program reviews and offering guidance on curriculum quality, outcomes alignment, and continuous improvement.

As your Education Council representative, Troy will bring a strong understanding of the unique demands of education within the science and technology sectors, including their rapid pace of change, hands-on delivery requirements, and critical role in preparing students for career success. At a time of significant institutional change, Troy is committed to being a clear and effective voice for the Science and Technology faculties. He will advocate for thoughtful, evidence-informed decision-making that supports program quality, student outcomes, and the long-term strength of applied and technical education at Okanagan College.

Troy intends to bring a collaborative, solutions-focused approach to EdCo and is committed to ensuring faculty perspectives are meaningfully represented at Education Council.

Erin Radomske (Faculty Representative)

Erin Radomske is the Chair of the Water Engineering Technology program and a cross-appointed faculty member in Biology. She is seeking election to the Education Council to provide a specialized Science and Technology perspective on curriculum development, academic policy, and the advancement of applied field and laboratory training.

Erin Radomske is a faculty member cross-appointed in Biology (BIOL) and the Water Engineering Technology (WET) departments, where she currently serves as Chair. She teaches courses in freshwater science, environmental biology, and water and wastewater microbiology.

Her work focuses on applied field and laboratory training for students entering the water and environmental sectors. As a candidate for Education Council, she is interested in contributing a Science and Technology perspective to discussions related to curriculum, programs, and academic policy, ensuring that the unique needs of these hands-on programs are represented in institutional decision-making.

Amanda Krebs (Faculty Representative)

A faculty member in the Mathematics and Statistics department since 2013, this candidate brings extensive governance experience to the Education Council. Having previously served as Vice-Chair of EdCo and Chair of a local school board, they offer a seasoned perspective on institutional policy and academic leadership.

I have been with the college since 2013, beginning as an upgrading instructor and now serving as a faculty member in the Mathematics and Statistics department.

From 2018 to 2024, I was an active member of the Education Council (EdCo), including serving as Vice-Chair during the 2023–2024 academic year. In addition to my work at Okanagan College, I am a trustee on the School District No. 89 Board, where I currently serve as Vice-Chair and previously held the role of Chair for four years.

I bring a wide range of governance and academic perspectives to this role and would appreciate your support in the upcoming election.

Education Council Spring Election - Faculty Positions (Elected by Acclamation)

Jillian Garrett (Arts Faculty)

Hello colleagues! I have been continuing faculty in Communications since 2007, currently serving as department chair, and am seeking my third term as the Arts representative on Education Council.

As Education Council Chair since May 2023, I have had the opportunity to coordinate several important initiatives intended both to revitalize and modernize Education Council’s procedures and processes, as well as to support the authority and integrity of Education Council within the model of collegial governance legislated by the College and Institute Act.

This is work I am passionate about and hope to have the opportunity to continue in the future. Thank you for your support.

Mary Ann Knoll (Business Faculty)

I have been with Okanagan College for approximately fourteen years, starting as term and then continuing, teaching accounting and business management courses. Prior to joining OC, I worked in public practice, industry, and the not-for-profit sectors.

As faculty, I was a member of the CPRC for the Business Portfolio for several years, including serving as vice-chair and chair of the committee. I was part of the internal review team that compiled the Tier III Program Review in 2022 and a member of the committee that compiled the ACBSP Self Study Report in 2024, an extensive process required to maintain the Hall School of Business and Entrepreneurship’s accreditation. These experiences have given me exposure to and appreciation for the complexities of post-secondary education beyond the classroom.

My primary focus in joining the Education Council is to ensure students at Okanagan College have an enriching student experience. Okanagan College’s curriculum offerings and educational policies are a primary determinant. As OC continues to face challenges in enrollment, budget, and future direction, I believe that enhancing the student experience remains our most vital goal.

Education Council Spring Election - Support Staff (Elected by Acclamation)

Katrina Green

I bring nearly a decade of experience in post-secondary education, with a strong focus on admissions, recruitment, and strategic enrolment management. Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with diverse student populations, helping individuals navigate pathways into education and supporting their success from first contact through to program entry.

I’m known for my strong interpersonal skills and ability to build meaningful connections with students, colleagues, and community partners. I’m passionate about creating accessible, student-centered systems that reflect the evolving needs of learners and the communities Okanagan College serves. My professional background has given me a deep understanding of enrolment trends, barriers to access, and the importance of responsive, inclusive decision-making within academic environments.

I’m committed to bringing a thoughtful, collaborative approach to the Education Council, with a focus on transparency, equity, and student success. Outside of my work at OC, I spend my time herding my four cats and attending as many live music shows as I can throughout the Okanagan region. I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute my experience and perspective to help shape policies and programs that support both current and future students at Okanagan College!

Spring Elections - Board of Governors - Student Representative (Elected by Acclamation)

Siofra Kilroy

I am a third-year student here at Okanagan College in the BBA degree program. Originally from Ireland, I moved to the Okanagan in 2021 as an international student. I completed a Master’s in Art Business in New York and held a career in the fine art world and art auction house industry before moving here.

My current interest is community and social endeavours, which aligns with my current area of study at OC. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent our student body on the board and feel I can bring a lot to the table. Having lived the OC pathway for the last three years, I look forward to carrying that experience into the role along with my previous life experience.

Building that connection between the student body and the board is a collaboration that builds a community central to all of OC’s mission, and allows students to become agents in their own futures.

Spring Elections - Board of Governors - Student Representative (Elected by Acclamation)

Lukyan Filipchuk

There has never been a point in human history where the need for a well-educated, well-connected population has been so great, and my goal is to use every tool available to organize and fight for our right to access these invaluable resources. People before Profit!

During my time on EDCO, I have developed a strong understanding of its responsibilities—including academic policy, program development, and representing the student voice in institutional decision-making. Being elected for another term allows me to build on this experience and continue advocating effectively for all students.

My goal remains to strengthen communication between the student body and EDCO, ensuring your concerns and ideas are clearly represented and addressed.
