Bias Workshops
The EDISJ Project Team is happy to announce the next series of workshops offered by EDISJ@OC in cooperation with HR, specifically with Perpetuah and Shani at the helm! If you go to the webpage, you can register for our April 7 or April 20 workshop: "What Is Bias and What Do We Do About It?" While, as students, staff, or faculty, we strive to be the best community members that we can, there are biases we all hold; biases we may not even be aware of! Come join us for a one-hour remote workshop and learn about it!
What is Privilege?
Sometimes when we hear people talking about privilege we think to ourselves, “This doesn’t apply to me or the people I know, we’ve all been through so much in our lives” The following 4-minute YouTube video shows an easy social experiment that opens the eyes of people participating by answering some simple questions of how they experience their day-to-day lives. Follow along to see how these questions apply to you and your life.
Okanagan College EDISJ Library Guide
The fine people at the Okanagan College Library have put together a fantastic portal for EDISJ resources! When you have a moment look through what they’ve developed and how it can be a useful resource for you, your colleagues, or students. As always, if you have any suggestions for additional resources, or have questions that you cannot find answers to, please contact us or the librarians.
