Motor vehicle trades students use digital instrumentation to diagnose an issue with the vehicle

Drive the direction of your career. Heavy Mechanical, Automotive Service Technician, and Recreation Vehicle Service Technician programs are all offered in state-of-the-art shops at Okanagan College's Kelowna campus. 

Battery Electric Vehicle Technology and Service program

Okanagan College serves as a regional hub for the Southern Interior for hybrid and EV training. The Battery Electric Vehicle Technology and Service program is designed for advanced, Red Seal endorsed technicians wanting to elevate their skills and knowledge of EV vehicles through this 36-hour course. Course delivery will be a combination of 6 hours of online learning and 30 hours of on-campus instruction.

HDET and TTM Level 4 Technical Training

Beginning January 2027, the delivery format for the following programs will change:

  • Heavy Duty Equipment Technician – Level 4
  • Truck and Transport Technician – Level 4

New Format

  • Weeks 1–4: Online instruction
  • Week 5: In-person (on campus)
    • The final day of Week 5 will be the in-person (IP) exam.

This updated format is designed to provide greater flexibility while maintaining hands-on and assessment requirements.
