Supporting Future Dental Professionals: Henry Schein and TI Scrubs Partner with Okanagan College

The Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) Program at Okanagan College welcomed industry experts from the Henry Schein team back to campus for their annual student workshop on dental equipment maintenance and repair.

Led by Henry Schein Service Technicians the workshop began with an informative session covering dental unit waterline maintenance, biofilm prevention, and common equipment maintenance and minor repairs performed in dental practices.

The learning then moved into the Okanagan College dental clinic, where students broke into smaller groups for hands-on instruction with the Henry Schein team. Through practical, hands-on activities, students gained a better understanding of how dental equipment works, how to care for and use it effectively, and how proper maintenance can help extend its service life.

This marks the third year the Henry Schein team has joined us to deliver this valuable workshop and this year's visit came with the addition of the owners of TI Scrubs, who made the trip to Kelowna to personally meet our students and instructors.

"We are grateful to the entire Henry Schein team, along with Natalie and Dr. Bill Busch, for sharing their time, expertise, and generosity with our students," stated OC's Certified Dental team. "Experiences like these help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real world dental practice. Just as importantly, they introduce our students to the people and organizations within the dental community who are committed to supporting the next generation of dental professionals."

Thank you, Henry Schein and TI Scrubs, for your continued partnership and support of the Okanagan College Certified Dental Assistant Program and our future dental professionals.
