About the program

Interested in working in the world of music? This certificate program prepares individuals to work in a variety of different roles pertaining to music production. Students will learn industry-standard skills involving the operation of both digital and analog recording, and the program also includes an element of music theory.

The Audio Engineering and Music Production Certificate is a comprehensive 766-hour program designed for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the music and entertainment industry. Using a combination of theory, hands-on training, industry standard assessment strategies, and practical application, with access to a state-of-the-art recording studio and equipment, learners are prepared to work in various technical positions such as the recording arts, music production, live performances including audio and visual elements, broadcasting, video and film.

Admission and program requirements

  • B.C. secondary school graduation, or equivalent, or 19 years of age out of secondary school for at least one year as of the first day of classes.
  • English 12 with minimum 50% or alternatives.

A minimum of 50% of the program must be completed through OC.
