It’s essential to recognize that the way we reference Indigenous cultures in our coursework can sometimes overlook the universal and unique aspects of local communities.
In this workshop, participants have the opportunity to explore best practices for incorporating regional resources into their syllabi. Participants will take part in a hands-on cultural activity that highlights the significance of including local First Nations references in Okanagan College courses and policies. This approach not only enriches the learning experience but also fosters a respectful engagement with the local First Nations context, creating a more wholistic educational environment.
