About the program

The Post-Diploma Certificate in Data Science is designed for graduates with a diploma or degree, particularly those with a background in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or related fields. This program provides an additional 24 credits of advanced coursework in Statistics and Data Science. Students will gain comprehensive training and practical experience, applying their skills across various disciplines. This diagnostic test highlights the level of mathematics students are expected to know upon entering the Data Science program and is designed to help ensure a strong foundation for success.

Data science diagnostic test

Graduates with a diploma or degree may receive a post-diploma certificate in Data Science by completing an additional 24 credits of STAT and DSCI courses from a given list. This certificate will be of interest to students who have completed a BBA, BCIS or another related degree or diploma and want to add some experience in Data Science.


Students will receive thorough training in Statistics and Data Science. Students should enter the program with a sound foundational background in Statistics and Calculus. Students without this background will be asked to complete MATH 314 and STAT 230. From there, students build on and apply these foundational skills to a diverse set of areas. Courses in this program are taught with a variety of applications and the mathematical, statistical, and data science concepts learned are universally applicable to a wide range of disciplines.
