In memory of Lee Holt

WET student Lee Holt

Flags have been lowered at the Kelowna campus in memory of Lee Holt, a student in the Water Engineering Technology (WET) program who passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Lee is remembered as a positive, hard-working student who was passionate about his program and his future as a water engineering technologist.

“We are deeply saddened by the news of Lee’s passing,” said WET Program Chair David Teasdale. “Our condolences go out to his family, friends and all who are grieving right now. Lee will be recalled as an eager and enthusiastic student with great potential in his chosen field. He will be greatly missed in the WET program.”

“Our hearts and our deepest sympathies go out to Lee’s family during this difficult time,” said Okanagan College President Neil Fassina. "His passing leaves a hole in the OC community, and we recognize that all those who knew Lee will be grieving today and in the days to come. To our students and team members, if you need emotional support, please do not hesitate to reach out and access the supports available to you through OC.”

Students can visit the Counselling Services page to connect with a Counsellor. Employees can access support through the College’s Employee and Family Assistance program (EFAP).

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28 beginning at 9 a.m. at Alexis Park Church 3906 35a Street in Vernon. More information is available in this online obituary.
