Foundation hosts virtual Student Awards Celebration

On Thursday, Jan. 28, more than 200 donors and students logged on to Zoom to celebrate the impact of community support that helped students thrive under the extraordinary circumstances thrown at them by the pandemic.

The event led to an emotional connection of students and community members, sharing their stories of why donors chose to give and how the gift changed students' lives.

When COVID-19 first hit last year, donors contributed $280,000 to a student emergency fund. This past fall, approximately $500,000 was disbursed to students in the form of scholarships and bursaries.

This ongoing generosity has a lasting impact. Click below to watch a video that aired during the event featuring several OC students and donors on why community support is so important, especially during these challenging times.
