Connections creates silent auction to benefit OC students
The following message has been sent on behalf of the OC Connections Team:
Fantastic Finds for Food
On August 24 at 9 a.m., OC employees will gather again for Connections 2021. There will be workshops, activities and prizes galore, but there will also be a new way for you to support our students who are struggling with food insecurity: our first ever Silent Auction.
“How can I help?” you ask? Well, all you need to do is find a treasure or two that you would be willing to part with and donate.
Some ideas would be:
- Something with a good story
- A gift that you would like to re-gift
- A coffee card or restaurant voucher
- Something you bought and never used
- Something of value that would raise lots of money
- A service you could provide to any other employee
- Anything you think someone else would love like a favourite book
To donate your item/s, drop them off to Stores at the Kelowna campus attn. Michelle Lowry in E501, or drop it off at your local campus (Admin Centre). If possible, send me (Jill Panton) a description of the item, along with a picture.
DEADLINE FOR DONATIONS: JULY 30
Once we have assembled our pile of treasures they will magically appear in an online auction where employees can explore to their hearts content and then bid to win some treasure.
