“I will work at your destruction, nor finish until I desolate your heart, so that you shall curse the hour of your birth."
—The Creature in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein

The Red Dot Players are proud to present Frankenstein by Nick Dear. Skilfully adapting Mary Shelley’s classic novel, Dear’s play is a gripping exploration of obsession, revenge, and the nature of love.

Rejected by society, the Creature—a grotesque monster assembled from the body parts of corpses—comes to an arrangement with the man who created and then abandoned him: Victor Frankenstein. If Frankenstein builds him a companion, the two of them will disappear into the wilds of Argentina and never trouble Frankenstein or his family again. However, when the scientist reneges on their agreement, the Creature is consumed with rage, and he dedicates himself to destroying Frankenstein and all he holds dear.

Content Warning: This production is recommended for mature audiences. It contains depictions of violence, gore, and sexual assault that some audiences may find upsetting. Fog and flashing light effects will be used throughout the production.

The Red Dot Players’ licence to present Nick Dear’s version of Frankenstein from the novel by Mary Shelley is granted by Rosica Colin Limited, London.
