Tim Walters, Ph.D OC English Department presents: FIFA World Cup 2026: A Match Made in Climate Hell.

This presentation explores the cardon emissions associated with the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup finals, which will be hosted in Canada, the USA and Mexico this summer. It will be the largest sporting event in human history and, due to a range of decisions made by its organizers, will produce enough greenhouse gases to kill 70,000 people.

Takes place in the Student Lounge, Salmon Arm campus.
Light refreshments will be provided.
