Political science improves awareness of ourselves and our place in the political world, including the capacity to improve and change the world around us. Concerned with the theory and practice of politics, faculty in the department help students develop the ability to understand the world from a variety of political, social and cultural perspectives. The discipline prepares students to think independently, develop flexibility and apply critical judgement.

I have researched and published on topics like ecological modernization, global environmental governance issues, protected areas governance in North America, environmental discourses, rights of nature, and environment and trade in Canadian foreign policy. I am also energized by educational technologies and the latest news and information about teaching and learning in higher education. I am currently a Research Fellow with the Earth System Governance Project, Board Member of the RCEN (Canadian Environmental Network), and Associate Editor for the Canadian Journal of International Development and International Journal.
